Can I replace the A9 control head with a A7 control head on a Spectra radio?

it has been my experience that unlike all LOW OR MID power spectra transceivers, the high power units will *NOT* allow changing of the control head type.

unless you are good at modifying the codeplug of a spectra i think you are outta luck.

of course, there is software out there to do this, but it's not available from M.

Batdude, I have changed out the A9 head to a A7, with regular rss, on a high power before, I think a lot may be firmware dependant, there are a lot of versions out there, in order to do it, you will need to read the radio first with the A9 head, then you will be able to get to the options screen to change the head type. SG
