First, do me a favor & listen to this clip: -
http://members.home.net/mikemost99/MDC.wav
This is the sound I am trying to achieve on my HT1250/CDM1550. Also for future, Pro9150. I know it's repeater access. I have "Auto" selected in the RSS, and I fooled around with all those settings in the RSS, the RSS is the latest version. Any suggestions? Thanks.

That is a MDC repeater access tone FFF0.
Make sure you have MDC repeater access enabled in the MDC options tree under the proper MDC system, and then enter the RAT ID on the personality screen of the personality you want the ID on under TX signalling systems.
Do you actually have an MDC controlled repeater, or do you just like the sound. It gets really annoying if you don't require it.

Chris, thanks for the reply, but it was unsuccesful. I am just doing it for the sound (not for me

- I still just get that regular MDC databurst. It is not an ID b/c it doesn't pop up, but just sounds like one.

What you have is indeed an MDC burst, or rather as the other guy said an MDC RAT, I did not know that one could use MDC as an RAT, but nevertheless.....WHat you are hearing IS MDC weather it be a ptt id or an RAT tone, you just need to increase the preamble and you will be all set.
I have a worker do most of the radio programming now a days so I can't say for sure but it should be in the same area as the DOS hold off, etc function settings.
There is the mention of pre-time packets or something of that sort. Inter-sit delay, etc.
Let me know if you find it.

Chefa, I increased the preamble sync to the highest point, 96, only thing that happens is I get one MDC burst (Standard sound), followed by a sort of MDC burst, but about 1/8 of the one I posted. Then it just stays keyed for an extra 5 seconds or so, and the pre-time is normal! - Strange. I'll put up a sound clip tomorrow.

Mike,
You are correct. I just tried it myself and couldn't make it happen. It may be a firmware issue. I tried all different configurations.
The same settings on a Jedi radio do exactly what you are looking for.

Mike 701, I am going to read a radio here tomorrow, (A ht1250) and then mess with the c/p in the evening and let you know what I come up with. I must apologize, as the directions I gave you work for sure on teh JEDI series as he said, and I thought that it would also surely work on the one you have but I guess thats another one of Motorola's engineering miracles.....
Will get back to you shortly...
