Does anyone make an antenna adapter for attaching an external antenna to an MT1000?

Price from Motorola is about $25 USD each item.

This item is not compatible with other accessories like a speaker / mic etc. because it takes the same place on the top accessory connector.

I assumed it would be a simple, screw in adapter like what is available for the HT 1000. But thanks for the info!

There is a company that actually makes a BNC adapter that sort of screws in and has a grounding strap that somehow is wedged between the housing and the frame or shield. I believe you need to remove some of the plastic case in order to fit it properly. I don’t know who sells these.

Give Monty a shout. I have one of his accy port cables for radio testing on the MT/HT radios and it works great. Good build and quality.

HI:

As woody has stated, I made some " Special "
Adaptors for the HT600 / P200 / MT1000 series
Radio !

The Motorola one requires the user to have the
" Adaptor " NTN5368A ( $22.75 ) AND also requires
a NKN6408A ( 21.00 ) RF Cable Kit

So the Motorola one will have a end cost
to the user of 43.75+ S & H

=================================

What I did, is make a Direct Antenna Adaptor,
and has a Cable comming out of the connector
and then terminates to " Any " user friendly coax
connector !

I can install a BNC plug, UHF Mini Jack, or any
configuration you desire. Runs a bit more, but
is well made, and is easier to deal with than
the Motorola one.

Many forum members have purchased them, and
I will try and upload a photo.

They run 40.00ea+ S & H

Here is the photo of some I have made

We Have used A MX Threaded Adapter For
Years For The Search & Rescue Radios.
P200/HT600/MT1000 Portables.

The Lapel Mic Screws On The Normal
13 Pin Universal Port And The Adapter
Goes Into The Old MX Antenna Port.

N.B. The Ground Strap Goes To The Lapel Mic Screw.
The New Antenna Is BNC .It Was Great
To Use A Rubber Duckie or An External
Antenna On The BNC.

Cost Was $12.00 usd.
