clips: Vehicles with lights/sirens/radios that shouldn't

Greetings all...remember the thread about having a category of pics/movies of vehicles with lights, sirens and radios that shouldn't have'm? Well, I have collected a small inventory of mpg clips that I am enclosing in below link for your enjoyment!

http://www.clarkson.edu/~warect/the_dawgs/

This is awesome, all of them (the MPD response was *not* meant to be in there, but that's an extra :D ) are fine examples of definitions of just how far you can go before...well, before going to far.

Please freely express your thoughts and insights, as well as be sure to include pics of the like in your areas! :P

Gone too far

Those are some interesting clips. Perhaps we should organize this into two threads:

1) Personal vehicles
2) Company Vehicles

I can think of a few vehicles that fit into each catagory.

Regardless... Thanks for the humor herr saber.

Auf Wiedersehen.

The "tryme" one is amusing. We have an old Taurus going about 110mph with a siren and what appeard to be one single light on the dash. Is "trymetoo" the same car, just on the inside?

Why do I get the feeling that car was not going to a call?

OMG.......the "spice-mobile" strikes again!!!!

Yes, actually the mov, tryme, trymetoo are all the same vehicle... :D

I'm going to hazard a guess too...

... and assume that that last video is where the guy saw an on coming police car or something. ;>

The lights in that car are probably worth more then the car itself.

A Tempo with a Siren and lights.... sheesh...

Although the other thing worth anthing in the car is the Tomar PLII that you can hear in the car...

Yeah that is correct, the movie Robocop had Taurus.

They used Taurus' for years here. They did well around town but had no top end from what I heard. It was before my time.

Trust me, the Tempo was NOT meant to be taken seriously; rather, this was an exercise for all of us to shake our heads at 8)

I guess I'm just numb to it by now. You should see the S**t that people shove lights and sirens in around here. They are the county fire guys that almost kill people trying to get to that call that's just sure to threaten all of humanity.
I'm thankful for all the volunteers but I sure wish they would try to up the recruiting standards a bit.

I will try to get some photos... you guys wouldn't belive it.

Here is a company vehicle for you... Strobes on the front of the roof, 3 pod vector on the back! Can't get much more interesting than that.

That looks like an Odyssey built flycar. I dunno about anywhere else but Rockland Paramedic Services has a whole fleet of them like that. Pretty slick trucks if you ask me.

MotorolaKing wrote:Are you even authorized to use that siren and that many lights and you definlty have alot of time on your hands if you recored your self...

you know...this kills me. who cares? it looks like he is in the middle of nowhere messing around having some stupid teenage fun, which is CERTIANLY not limited to teenagers...i have a siren and i am 33 and still screw around with the thing. why? because it's fun, and at times very funny...and i know i am authorized to have one. and that many lights? again...who cares how many lights? or is it in some states (maybe yours)...because of yahoos that could not control themselves they limit the numbers of lights you can have?

now before the "flaming" starts, i know all of the "it's a problem if he kills someone because he causes and accident" arguments and bla, bla, bla. but again...it looks like he is in the middle of nowhere...so where is the harm...i know a guy who is a ranking officer who actually can play the star spangled banner on his siren...now there is some "time to kill".

i think it's like "are you even authorized to have that software/out of bandsplit radio/ham rig on PS freqs/bla bla bla"...

is it really your problem...does it really bother you so much you have to post that on the board...talk about "time on ones hands"...

spellcheck anyone...?

yea, definitely not my car :D
c'mon guys, just like the last post says...this is in good humor, so bash it, enjoy at their expense, but don't stab and criticize it and yes, all these people are autorized users (which is what worries me most!!! bahaha).

Earlier post about the powercall siren: Those are cool! Anyone know much about those?

Cheers :P

What kind of radio is in that car? Orange display - I take it it's a Kenwood? or a ham rig?

Posted: Sat Oct 25, 2003 2:16 pm
by nmfire10
Looks like maybe a Kenwood TM-733 dual band ham.

Didn't NYPD use the power call tones? They sure are neat - I seem to remember them being the associated with NY squads.

HUH?

god, i would laugh to NO END if i got passed priority one by a tempo with a roofrack and a siren....then i'd take it as a sign of the times, acknowledge the red sox winning the world series AND hell freezing over, and then committ hara-kari
