They say your the man, can I make my maxtrac low band 16 pin connect to my Maxtrac UHF 5 pin to make a repeater, and without tearing the entire radio apart?

Sounds like you want a link or extender module. Yes you can do that. I will add the nessary parts in your five pin radio to allow it to be used with my repeater, link, or extender modules at no additional charge.

Will, I still want to use both radios if I need to but would like to be able to use my UHF portable to talk on my low band freqs, tell me more

Burner, the extender module has a full disable switch on the module which allows full use of either radio just like the module was not there. Since both radios still have their microphones plugged in you may also override it by using either radio's mic for transmitting. Also turning off either radio will not affect the other radio, like locking up the transmitter.
