Hi, I am wanting to learn more about speech inversion. Do you know of any websites that could be of help? I've been told that there are like 16 different code possabilities. How do I find which one a radio is using?

Also, Do you know of any companies that makes them for the HT1250. I had one page but I lost it. And do they let you choose which code you get?

Thanks for the help.

midian makes various plug in play scramblers for the ht1250 radio, call them at
midian electronics 800.643.4267
they have basic scramblers that use inversion and i think can be set to several different inversion mixing freqs. they also make higher security rolling code inversion boards.
these boards are plug and play for the basic scramblers, the higher security ones require a special programmer first, wich they sell too, then after you have loaded your code into them, you can plug and play the rolling code boards.

Ramsey Electronics has a #SS-70A speech scrambler/descrambler. 800-446-2295
Not much security left in those inverted speech units....

Speech inversion will only keep the "Joe Blows" in scannerland from hearing you. Anyone that's serious about scanning will get through inversion easily.

It will stop 99% of people from listening in, however.

Just remember- IT ISN'T SECURE !!!!

You might also want to try looking at http://www.transcrypt.com for plugin inversion and rolling code scramblers. They also have white papers available on their site if you want to know more of the theory.

Thanks guys. Yes, I realize that they aren't real secure, but my department uses this and I'm putting it in my personal radio (which I use during work and off) And I will also use it on some of my other uses. And I don't know of any way to have Inversion and a more advanced type in the same radio so...

ALSO, Do you guys know how to find out which one of the 16 inversion codes someone is using?
I have a list of the codes and the freq in HZ that each one splits at. Would there be any way to tell with a service monitor or anything???

Thanks

as for knowing what inversion code they are using, i would recomend hacking....keep changing the dip switch settings on whatever inversion board you get until they sound good....
also, unless some of the other companys like transcrypt, northern selectone...have recently created a direct plug and play inversion board, they didnot have one 6 months ago, thats when i found midian, they were the only company that made truely plug and playinversion scramblers. the other companys required a interface harness to be wired and soldered into the radio. if you want better inversion get a rolling code board, it changes the mixing tone many times a second, wich makes it extreemely hard to break, but yes it is possible to break but not easy. when i finally go for it, i will be buying the rollling code boards..just saving my pennys, i will let everyone know how it works.
