Ok here more pics from our installs. Sorry about the mess - the console was put in about 3 months ago and the owner of this vehicle feels a need to haul half his house around with him. Typical EMT.

Anyway....

13 inch Gamber Johnson console mounted to the Explorer/Ranger top plate. Note this was designed for bucket seats but with a little creativity we made it work with the split 60-40. Factory dork console was removed to allow the radio console to be mounted.

Radios are

UHF A9 Spectra 45w
VHF A7 Spectra 110w
2 Dek boxes for Siren/PA and VRS

Blank spot for the two portables is for a switch box which hasn't been put in yet.

He needs to do like I do with my Ranger. Once a month, take everything that isn't bolted down and throw it on the ground outside. Put back what you actuall need and shovel everything else into the garbage can.... or as the case may be, multiple garbage cans.

My only suggestiong would be to place the two DEK's together with the A9 head, since they are all the same size. I just have this thing for stuff being symectrical (sp?).

That's how I had it when I did the work, vehicle owner changed it. He wants to be able to shut the radios off instead of using the ignition. Leaves him with a missing filler plate between the radios. Also the top DEK goes with the A7 VHF radio for extra buttons.

My question is why does an EMT in illinois have a siren?

The owner is a licensed EMT in Michigan and Illinois. MI law requires all EMT's to have a 360 degree visible red light and a siren. You see a lot of people with red lightbars and mini bars over there to comply with MI vehicle code. Werid, but ertainly better than our stupid vehicle laws.

Anyway it just gets unplugged in Illinois.

FYI... That's SVT's finger in there
