I recently got a hi rose connector for sabers with the head set icon on the dust cap. I don't know if anyone is familiar with NEW EAGLE head sets. Lots of special forces units use them now days. They are small transducer bone vibrating units.
What I wanted to do was adapt the head set to a saber without ruining the plug on the end so I built an adapter simulating the side of a Bendix King radio.
However, when I hook it up the audio sound horrible and when turned up high the radio flashes KEYLOAD intermittantly!!!
I CANT GET IT TO WORK!!!
The set was made for Bendix King. I made an adapter to plug the set into a box then a cable goes out to a hi rose connector and into the hi rose connector on the radio.
I even tested the audio straight out the back of the option pins on the back and into a speaker. Its not the radio.
Seems the head set tests at 11 ohms on the meter where the regular speaker mics are 8.
I tried resisters in different combinations but no luck. Why would the audio be interfereing with the keyload.
I went so far as to abandon the hirose adapter and use a plug off an old speaker mic. This time the audio sounds better but the radio seems to play audio out the speaker mic. outputs and the front of the radio at the same time!!!
weired!
I gave up for now after 80 cups of coffee and two wasted days off work.
