Hi. I am looking for the ribbon cable that goes from the vrs board to the options board. The connectors look like IC chips, Mine has a broken pin (leg).
Also If any one knows:
1. why the radio stays on after you turn the head off I would like to know.
2. The Audio PA in the 1185B Siren/PA has a hum to it now that I have the VRS installed with it.
Thanks,

According to the 6806273T69 VRS manual the ribbon cable between the bottom board and the VRS is:
3080052K05 - CABLE ASSEMBLY RIBBON for $ 15.50 retail.
It is possible that the broken cable pin may be contributing to your hum. After you replace the ribbon cable it may go away? Does the hum still happen if you unplug the VRS power connector and ribbon cable (i.e. you have an unpowered, unconnected VRS inside the Siren/PA housing)? If the hum does not go away when configured like this, then it is possible whoever did the conversion may have damaged something installing the VRS.
If your Spectra uses the rear 15 pin DB-15 connector (i.e. it is not a high power trunk mount), pins 2 and 8 must be shorted together unless you have an Emergency switch hooked up. The radio was designed to power up even when the control head switch is off to send an emergency signal. Shorting the DB-15 pins 2 to 8 jumper sets the radio up for normal operation without an emergency switch (also check your programming). Check your DB-15 rear accessory connector and make it is completely pushed into its socket. If you have an emergency switch installed, check your installation and radio programming.
Did it have this problem before the Siren/PA or VRS was added? If not, try unplugging the Siren/PA cable (with the power off of course) from the radio then power it back up to see if the problem persists. You will see some error codes because the Siren/PA and VRS are not connected, but, the radio should still work. If the power down problem does NOT go away then you know it has nothing to do with the Siren/PA or VRS. If the problem does go away then you may have Siren/PA cable problems, radio interface board problems or maybe modifications/malfunctions on the Siren/PA board feeding power back to the radio.
