I have an older (first or second year) MT1000 that when in scan, (priority and .5 sec sample) will sample the priority channel for about .25 seconds or about half of the cycle. I took it the local shop and was only able to talk to the counter person who did not seem too knowledgable. Any ideas as to what to tell them for the return? Also, I bought a used enhanced MTVA to use with the radio. When the radio is inserted it will charge, connect with the speaker, and the display will show current channel. None of the buttons on the MTVA will control the radio (scan, monitor, etc). Manually changing the channels, the MTVA will not display the new channel until you re insert the radio. Barring the MTVA being hosed, any ideas?
Thanks for any assistance in advance,
Doug

Am I correct that an "A" model MT1000 is not totally compatible with the MVA?

I believe this is the case.

Is your radio a 99 channel model?

No, its a 16 ch, and I'm pretty sure its an A model. I found a reference to this on page 7 of the discussion forum here, but I did not see anyone confirm that the A models would not work in an enhanced MTVA tho...

I hope someone has some ideas on the scan problem tho, its functional, but right irritating when its sampling the priority.

I believe that only the 99 channel MT1000 is compatible, the 16ch I use at work does not respond to the buttons on the MVA either.

I use both 16ch and 99ch versions in my unit, and the buttons work for both.

I'd have to go check on the model versions though.

An HT600 or P200 will also work on a basic level, but no channel changing.

HI. I have the same problem with 2 of my 99ch MT's. My 16ch MT works though. I read that the A models don't work, but my 99 is supposed to be a B model, but still does not utilize the extra functions on my ENH MVA. if anyone finds a fix for this problem let me know as well. Thanks,

You can turn off the Priority Scan mode and it will stop sampling. You can also increase the "hang time" on a busy channel. When you are in scan mode and push the PTT it will TX on the channel you have the Ch Sel knob on not the channel it is scannning unless you have 'Talkback scan" enabled. All done through the RSS.
