I was curious...Why is the HT1550 so rare? It's never on Ebay, its never mentioned on this board, and nobody I know owns a 1550. What features does the 1550 have that the 1250 does not?
Just Curious,

Hi, I've seen the HT1550 on E-bay more than once, and in answer to why is it so rare, possibly because they just came out and (for the reason for them not being on E-bay that much) maybe the people that bought them like then, and dont want to sell them

MT2000 Man-
I believe the 1550 came out about the same time the 750 and 1250 came out. Anybody on the board own a 1550? If so, how much larger are they than the 1250 and what features does the 1550 showcase that the 1250 does not? Perhaps the 1550 is a bit more durable than the 1250? I wish // would bring the analog saber back (....A good, affordable, and durable portable.

For the record, while I agree the analog saber is a great radio. It was never affordable. Motorola has a pricing structure where their top of the line portable always hovers around $4000.00.

2 Channel MX-360's used to go for 3800.00 in the eighties.

The 1550 came out much later than the 750/1250s. I think there are several reasons the 1550 isn't very popular:
1. cost

2. it's new and everyone's still shy from their 750/1250 experiences

3. it doesn't do much more than the 1250 does
