Batboard

I have two high-power (110w) spectras in my pickup truck, and I'd like to get new antennas to replace the temporary mag-mounts that I'm using. I use the radios for ham, business, and public safety, so there's a wide range of frequencies in each band that I need to monitor and transmit on. Both antennas would be mounted to the bed rail of the truck. I've been looking at the "Genesis Wideband" antennas made by Antenex -- they have a 5/8 wave VHF in two frequency ranges (144-156/150-162) and a 440-470 UHF model with 5db gain. Has anyone used these, with good or bad experiences? Or have any other suggestions for a good antenna for this type of application?

I use the Genesis regularly and have great results with them. I've never had one faile, either.

Antenex Phantom VHF antennas.....now that's a whole different story.

The Genesis by Antenex is a very good idea, but they will not take the power. I have a customer who regulary burns up the wideband antennas with only 60 watts. The componets and the assembeley/soldering are very poor.
I am currently investigating a wide band antenna made in Canada, I will let everyone know whow they work out.
