Batboard

As radio was powering up a couple of side contacts were shorted inavertently, result- error tone. (programming cable wasn't on right).
Radio reads/writes and tone mutes during upload and download but then goes to constant
tone with no Tx or Rx. Controller ?

Anyhow, if your radio reads / writes, you
probably have a Mother Board problem.

If you can't find anyone to fix it, I might
be able to restore it for 1/2 of the service
depot price.
