It's almost 4am and I am bored to tears, so here is the most useless post of the day:

I will be getting a Whelen Talon in a couple days, so I'l be able to see just how good or bad it is.

I am bored with halogen deck lights, so we'll try this bad boy out and see what it's like.

I have the talon to the front of the vehicle. It's a great light, but I never bothered to put the extra scoop on it. It works just fine and there really is minimal glare on my windshield at night. So I haven't bothered. Mine is also mounted right over the rearview mirror such that it's pretty much dead smack on the window, so there really isnt much room for the flashback shield...

Generally, for a rear install, we are placing these on either the top of the window or at the base next to the CHMSL...

I generally don't recommend using the flashshield when installed to the front of a vehicle. There is a lot of intersection warning lost as a result of shield. The foil tape that comes with the light doesn't help either...

We did get in a shipment of sync wire singles today... Almost get dizzy watching them :)

Next week we have an install with a pair of singles to the rear, and a pair of singles to the front... We're going to use a FedSig 460L Strobe/LED power supply to sync the front and rear hideaway strobes with the front and rear LEDs. It does require some tricky use of relays and diodes in order to maintain front and rear cutoff. Just set the Talons to steady burn and switch them by 12v thru the power supply. Should be fairly nice. Equipment costs all together around $800...

Of course I can't let everyone down....the Tomar LED is still wider!

I use a shield in the front, but not in the rear unless the department requests it.

found a nice website with a demo of the talon. Check it out for those wondering what it would look like: http://www.lshlights.net/video/Whelen/talon.htm

Anyone have a site like this (or wanna make a video of) on the Tomar LED, (*cough* Jim?!)
