That is from your friend Jim Locke's site... Why is there red + cable running *OVER* the coolant res and across the back of the engine?

The vehicle overall looks great for being a refurb :) Just caught my eye seeing cable ran without loom over some of the hottest parts of the engine compartment...

Maybe my eyes are just playing with me... It is 2353 here... Been a long day...

It's a thermal sense wire for a spiffy coolant temp transducer

Check out the RWL tires.....sweet!

Yes, it is! That car belongs to Penn Twp. PD, who HAD a service contract with a Pittsburgh-based Motorola dealer for lighting and radios. Because of this, nothing was done with the emergency wiring on several of their refurbs. That shop no longer has the contract! In fact, I have their new K9 car in my shop as I type this.

This is why they no longer deal with them.

How is it mounted? Is it on a bracket or on the speaker section?

It's a 3/8" thick aluminum plate that bolts to the bottom of the MX7000. It's about 6" wide. It extends forward to clear the front of the bar then offsets upwards about 1-1/2" then extends forward about 6-7". One of their officers makes the brackets at home. They're VERY solid. One of the cars went through a garage door that wasn't up far enough and it broke the lightbar loose from the roof and only 'tweaked' this bracket slightly. A little love from a hammer and press and it was good to go.
