Just a qick question:
I have a MaraTrac that I believe is set at about 50 watts and I would like to change the power setting to 100 watts (I have no special service equipment to test it with). Is there any internal adjustment that I have to make inside the radio (if so please give me a vivid description of where to find this adjustment) or is there a way to do it through the rss without any special service equipment? I have looked throught the rss service screens and can't come up w/ too much, do to my lack of technical knowledge of motorola's radios. Thanks for any help.

In the RSS service, you will go to transmitter and receiver settings. Then you will go to trnasmitter and toggle up a little at a time watching your watt meter as to make sure you do not go to high. The numbers you see on the screen for setting your power is not going to be the actual power out. It is only a refrence number. I would suggest you use a HIGH QUALITY watt meter such as a BIRD. The CB meters are very cheap and you could end up with a Maratrac receiver only. I usually set the Motorola 110 watt radios to 100 watts. That keeps them on the safe side and 10 more watts is not going to give you any better performance.
