be more specific, what boards do you have installed? There are different scramblers that are for the 350

Hmmm..I didn't know there are different modules.
I had posted some questions about AVS boards for GP350's a while back but never got a reply. I tried installing one of the boards into one of my radios but it wouldn't turn on. Does the radio need to have a keypad or anything else to use the AVS? I tried it in both keypad and non versions and nothing happened. I don't have the AVS RSS tho.
Also, is there a seal or gasket that goes between the AVS board and the rear of the front cover? Mine didn't come with one and it seemed a bit loose.

GP350 AVS Version R01.00.00 5-17-96
Motorola Part # HVN6051A
This RSS programs the scambler board parameters ONLY and not the radio freq/tone/etc.

The AVS Advantage boards you refer to were manufactured by Transcrypt Interantional. I believe they are equivelent to thier current 416/430 series.
http://www.transcrypt.com/
They were shipped with a rubber gasket between board & radio.
The board is often turned on/off with the squelch check/side button in the PTT bar.
Hope that helps.
