Hi,

I'm not very familiar with the newer Radius mobile radios that Motorola makes. I am looking for a compact, cheap radio (like the SM50 or SM120) that will do QCII decode (no encode needed) and 2 or 4 channels. I notice that on Motorola's website they say you can add on such signalling options as QCII through the RadiusPort expansion system. Just wondering what I would need to buy to do QCII on such a radio, and how much it would cost.

Thanks for the help,

According to my RSS for SM series there is a section for signaling and it includes QCII decoding. To find out if the radio has that capability, read it and go to F4, CHANGE/VIEW CODEPLUG MENU and go to F7 SIGNAL SYSTEM. If it does not appear then the radio does not support it.

Ok...anybody else know? I haven't bought the radio yet, so I want to find out what the unit can do before I go spend money on it. Really what I plan on using it for is like a mobile Minitor to monitor my fire dispatch and decode my station's tones.

Thanks

The M1125 series will also do QC signaling at a reasonable price.

Fireradio, you would need the complete model number to tell what options are in the radio.
Or if you had the codeplug file and were able to look at it in the RSS.
