MTSX Programming cable building info

Do you have any hints on how to build the MTSX programming cable (specifically the accessory connector plug)? I know there is some info on batlabs, but there must be an easier way on how to do this (perhaps using a small PCB that is strapped to the accessory connector of the hand held)?

I rarely program the radio, so a cheap and dirty solution is just fine.

I actually saw a guy one time use an old HT1000 case with the cable soldered to the side. Of course he had to swap cases each time he programmed.

When one considers the cost of a factory cable versus the monetary and non-monetary cost of what could happen via the use of a home brew, I'd say that homebrewing is a bad idea. Given the fragility of Motorola radios during writes, this isn't the place to engage in economy.
