I am trying to read the SN from several of our Fire Depts HT600s. The software reads 651, then all zeroes afterwards. I tried looking at the radio file with a hex editor with no luck. Is there a way I can find the SN once it has been discarded with the old housing? Thanks for any help.

Hi:

When the HT600's Evolved, as the other
person stated...The Radios Firmwarewas
not designed to record the ESN. Only
the Paper / Plastic label on the back
can ID a HT600 / P200

As the radios design expanded, Motorola
did leave Room for the ESN's to be recorded
both by the radio and RSS

If your radio has the serial tag missing as a lot of questionable radios do, just use any numbers and letters after the "651" that the RSS (software) uses to store a archive file on your computer. Ie; 651myradio, 651radio2
The software ONLY uses the serial number to identify a file on the computer.
651 is the model radio designation.
A normal serial number would be 651xxxnnnn
x= three letters indicating the date code and n= the accual serial number, and it can contain a letter also.

Thanks for all the replies. The info was a great help. Unfortunately I'm trying to account for radios by SN for inventory purposes. I'll just have to SWAG it. Thanks anyway.
