Great site. Thanks for sharing what you know. I searched the archive and didn't see these topics...

How do I disable DPL on an R100 H5016B? I see the spot where they used to put a PL disable switch (my manual for an older model shows all of the switches lined up), but there isn't a switch on mine. I tried to jumper across and still can't get it to disable. Am I missing something here?

Would it be better to try to make the DPL version into a PL version with an external controller, or just try to trade off the DPL version for a PL version? Anyone interested in trading?

Any idea on how much the external controllers cost?

Thanks.

The DPL version R100 uses a different microprocessor in both the receiver and exciter, plus some componet chages. To DISABLE the DPL on receive you need to change a couple of jumpers and add a jumper accross the pads for the PL DISABLE switch. I'll need to bring my R100 Man/notes home for more info.

Zetron makes a Repeater Maker "controller" tone pannel that can be interfaced into the R100. The Comm Specialists TS64 PL encoder/decoder, about $50, could also be used with the existing main board ("controller").

The R100 mainboard in the cover contains some well engineered circuits for audio and squelch gating, and other circuits for the repeater. Depending on which mainboard it has, there is tone remote and or extended local control posible. Most had a extra board mounted on plastic posts for interface thru the DB25 connector to a extension deskset or extended local control, that board and wiring to the DB25 can be removed as it is not normally needed.
