Vehicle Repeaters????
Hello All,
I am in the Need of a Vehicle Repeater and i need more info before i make a decision. What is the Diffrence between the VXR1000 and the Pyramid SVR200. I need a Repeater that will work Flawlsley and soemthing with a Curtosey Bleep or Beep so when i have it on i can key up now and then to see if it still is on and that transmission went threw ok. Which one do you recommend the most.
Thank you..

Midland 70-1334B. 50 Watt 128 ch with the beep you mentioned. I have them in all my Fire Apparatus with no regrets so far after one year of service. Good thing about it you don't need another mobile radio. It's a stand alone repeater and when you need to use it responding to the call it's ready. On your way out the truck push the AUX Button and get a confirmation beep and you are set to use it to boost your portables back to other units or dispatch.
Every living thing including roaches are running out the fire, we're running in the fire. It's hard to explain. Are roaches smarter than we are?
Depending on what mobile radio you want to hook the VR to, I highly recommend the Mobex II from Futurecom. I know several others on the board have had good experiences with them as well. They integrate seemlessly with Astro Spectra W4's & MCS2000 Model III's. They also integrate with a GE model (don't recall which) and one other manufacturer (again, don't recall which). More features than you'll ever need, & high reliability.

Sorry, I do not have any experience with the two models you are asking about. I just thought I'd mention the Futurecom units in case you might consider something else. Here are a few threads I found with opinions on both units:E911EMT wrote:Hello Both you did not mention what unit u are using can u please tell me thanks...

It would appear both are fine units, with the cost of the VXR1000 being approx half the cost of the Pyramid SVR200. The VXR1000 apparently doesn't do channel steering, in case that's a requirement for you.
