I've owned brush / grill guards on past trucks and SUV's. As you are probably aware most of these rust out in a couple years and end up looking like crap.

Yes of course there is stainless steel models now in either natural or black finish, but they are very expensive $600 or more and often don't look right do to modern design influences.

What about going with a push bar instead? Setina makes the BP300 model for trucks and SUV's out of aluminium in podwer coated black. I like the looks, the price is right and it appears it won't interefere when I put the behind the bumper hidden winch system in from Warn later this year.

otherwise I'm looking at the complete external brush/grill guard with the winch mounting plate.

this cherokee's probably going to get a bumper thumper grille guard, primarily for grille protection (damn yuccas)
Also, its getting a hidden hitch under the front bumper, that'll probably wear a skidplate most of the time.
I doubt i'll ever buy a winch for it, but i prefer a central 9000 lb tow point then 2 hard to access 3000 lb ones.

However, the past one had a setina push bumper. It didnt at all look too bad, and it protected it the one time a car reveresed into me at a traffic light.
Plus i got to push stuff with it.

You could also get a standard pushbumper and have it powder coated.

I recently had my Brush guard and nerf bars sprayed with Rhino Lining and they look great and its guarenteed for life. The price was a little high but it was well worth. He even took them off to make sure he got everything sprayed good. Just something to pass along.

I have a Westin (I think) on my explorer sporttrac. I got the black coated one. They say they have a no rust warranty, but you are supposed to take care of cleaning it their way to keep the warranty up. Naturally the bolts are showing some rust, and I sort of slacked off last year and didn't wax it before winter. The only parts where the coating is bubbling is right at the welds on the top crossbar on the inside sharp angle.

I got the thing because of all the deer we have up here. It's not too uncommon to come across 20-30 within a mile. Overall I've been really happy with it. I may send it in to get re-coated when I get my hood repainted because of all the stone chips. The only thing we have more of than deer is gravel trucks with unsecured loads. Driving is a real adventure.

Had not thought of rhino lining, that's a great idea!

I had a smittybuilt on the old yukon and it rusted out even with proper maintenance.
