I emailed Motorola and they say the HHCH HMN4044D works with the AVA. I previously tried HHCH PLN7737B, which gave me the failure code. I have emailed them back to see if the AVA (NTN7227E) needs special firmware to support the HHCH. Currently waiting for their reply… Also AccessPoint says the HHCH HMN4044D is out of stock but when I called Motorola they said they have 100 in stock. I’ll let you guys know the outcome.

It may be a long wait. I went in circles with the Schaumberg depot over this issue for several months, and although they were able to confirm that those HHCH compatible AVA's had special firmware in it, they were never able to FIND that firmware to flash into a new memory chip. Or that's what they said.
I tell ya, it's like being sent into a round room and being told to piss in the corner!

Did you ever get an answer? Which AVA were you using? (AS3, XTS?)

Also, What's the difference, besides the plugs? Can they be used for both the Astro Saber and XTS AVA's?

HMN4044E
OR

PLN7737B.
Thanks Guys!

The HMN4044D has been replaced w/ HMN4044E, neither one of them work with the AVA. The AVA+Radio+HHCH= 3 micro-processors, the Plantation crew has informed me that the 3 will not work as one. NTN8077A was a Y cable to use the HMN4044D, but was never offered to the public (research only). I have tried and tried to get this cable, and no dice. I have spoke with a hacker of sorts and he claims to have a fix. I know he uses the HMN4044 and jumpers some points inside the mic. I have not tried this yet, and sure if I will.
P.S. the other mic you tried was for the XTVA
