Has any one out there messed with the old school steering and voting. I am adding a site to an existing 4 receiver and 2 transmitter system. I have the slave steering module in and I believe the modifications are correct. The problem is when I vote the new receiver site the Tone priority light comes on with the vote indicate light and I don't seem to be getting voted audio out of the steering module. I am however steering. Please help or please shoot me:)[/quote]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Tone Priority Module for console-takeover of the voting system? Sounds like you have an issue there.. Pull out the Tone Priority Module and see if you get audio. If you DO get audio, then something is getting into the Tone Priority Module and causing it it believe there's console traffic when there isn't. Sure your new site is properly terminated at the comparator?

SpectraTAC can be really easy, or a major :o. I'm trying to figure out why I have carrier squelch after having just added the C269 MICOR option. dOH!

Let me know how it turns out.

The tone priority light is for the console and should only be on when a console PTT is active. The problem didn't start until I added the slave steering module and the fifth signal quality module. I reomoved the slave steering mod and I have tried other Tone priority mods all with the same results. I am wondering if there was some sort of mdoification to use this paticular slot. The problem is only active when I am using this particular slot. Its the slot to the left of the tone priority module. I have brand new signal quality mods and old ones aswell they all give my the same result.

It sounds like you might have your interconnecting wires between your two comparators crossed you are apparently pulling a low on pin 21 of your main comparator (one with the Tone Priorty mod) Pin 21 is the Priorty indicate once the Tone Priorty mod sees that low it will turn on the gate I think its U11? which will override voted audio in favor of console audio. Make sure that some how your not accidentally putting pin 15 (vote indicate) from your other comparator up to pin 21 on your main comparator. My limited experiance has been that steering has almost never worked and we have abandoned it because you will have a receiver vote even through it is "far away". It then steers the TX down county from this guy and he can't hear dispatch...

Not to stray from the issue Aaron but if you have any working signal quality modules you'd like to sell, I need about 2 or 3. Or 4.
