Marine PS radio advise needed

I am trying to set up a UHF radio in a small utility boat (RHIB). Does M make something other then the SABER R that can survive in a extremely damp environment?

We are toying with using a Fiberglass NEMA 12 enclosure for the drawer, and modifying a display head for use with industrial control push buttons. It would be ugly as sin, but would stay dry. Input & output would be hermetic A/N, with a bulkhead hermetic "N" for the antenna feedline.

Options, suggestions, anything? BTW, tried a handheld in a radio baggie, not enough TX power & difficult being heard over the engine.

I think he meant "enclosure," like, a box that's watertight. Just google some stuff, you'll find something.

Yea most boat I've seen have the little plastic lids that cover over the display. You can get weatherproof mic's and speakers so those aren't an issue.
