I was wondering if anybody who has any experience with the Minitor I could tell me how to boost the audio volume? Also, can anyone tell me how to make the "beep" dependant on the volume control? Thanks.

hi.
Its been a while since we've had a mInitor I in for repair. In the manual it shows a jumper labled as JU101 for HI constant volume and JU102 for variable volume. These two jumpers is just a single wire.
Take your pager apart and separate the two boards. On the board with the volume control, locate a wire coming from near the power switch along the side of the board and connected to near the volume control. (there is only one wire on the board I have besides the two wires connecting the speaker, so its easy to find)
Disconnect the wire at the end near the volume control. At the other end of this wire you will see a feed-through hole, solder the free end of the wire in that feed-through hole. If you look on the solder side of the board, you will see that you have reconnected the wire to the other side of the volume control.
Re-assemble your pager, test and your done!
As far as boosting the volume of the pager, there is no silver bullet. There was a charger/amplifier available for it (check Ebay) Also a remote speaker that resembled a speaker/mic (I have one of those in stock!

)
Good luck
Bruce

If I remember correctly there is a way to mod the volume , but it has been a few years ago now that I repaired the minitor I series,
there is a way to do it by replacing a few minor components on the audio out portion of the decoder board

It seems to me that you could remove a resistor somewhere and replace it with a smaller resistance. Only thing is knowing which resistor to replace??
