MTR2000 programming- am I missing something?

We're trying to hook up an MTR2000 VHF to be controlled by a CommandStar Lite console (via tone control). This particular radio needs to have channels (same freq. with different PL tones to control 3 different repeaters). Not a problem so far, except I cannot find a way for the MTR2K to "scan". Will the MTR2000 scan? A technician who used to work here thinks they do but I have not seen any indication in the RSS or any book that it will. I'm thinking we will either have to-
A- disable RX PL on the MTR so it will pick up all 3 repeaters or-
B- change the repeaters to have the same TX PL tones.
Either of these scenarios will work but it won't indicate on the console which repeater is being received. Am I missing something in the programming of the MTR2K, or for that matter the CSL console?
