Does anyone know if an mcx1000 dash mount can be converted to a trunk mount. I see two push together connectors that may need to be fabricated. Does anyone have a conversion they would sell?

You need 3 things.. the cable, the head, and the remote-front for the radio. The back of the head is different between the remote and dash mount, as is the need for a driver board in the "radio" part. I suggest finding a dead remote mount unit for parts, and then do the swap. If you have all the parts, it works fine.
