Radio installs in my '96 Ford Ranger

Hey gang! Now that I FINALLY got a truck, I just HAD to throw some radios into it! I will attach a few photos here for you all! The only thing left is to finish thinking about the NMO mount antennas and actually install them. Feel free to give me feedback! I need some ideas on those 2 speakers between the seats. They work fine for now, but I need to actually mount them somewhere because they constanly wiggle their way up when I move either seat. Ideas?
Just for information: the small head located at the bottom of the cupholders is an Icom IC-207H with the remote kit. I installed this a few days ago, but I just installed the Spectra. The Spectra is an 800MHz model with the remote head kit as well. I use it to monitor the local PD's and what not (with the TX inhibit enabled, of course).
This is the before picture:
This is a picture of the stereo insides... We had to take the ignition sense from in here.
And a few after shots...
I have hi-res pix if anyone needs any! -Brett W

Dude, you are a nut! You spend so much time with radios and computers that you don't take the time to stop and smell the perfume of the girls walking by!

(well, I can't say that right
now because of current circumstances but still, take a break, let it go for a while and you'll be much happier for it

ROTFLMAO! I don't quite think I can be called a NUT.. But, yes, I do enjoy my hobbies (YES INCLUDING GIRLS!). How do ya know I don't "stop and smell the perfume of the girls walking by?" - I beg to differ! LOL! I just have to keep a happy balance between them all I guess. And BTW: above I asked for help on those speakers because they were not mounted yet... Well, there is one good side to this - I can get them out of the way if need be.. U kno, if I have other PEOPLE in the truck! Anyways, have a good one and take care! -Brett W
BTW: Is this someone I know?? LMAO

I can account for two of the speakers, more than that and well.
I had the same kind of console for a local vol.fire guys truck that needed two speakers mounted. Right behind the cup holders on the underside I mounted just the frame speakers, nothing else, cone/frame/magnet, and drilled holes in the plastic where the speaker mounted to. No Moto look but, they didn't care and sound was still the same. Make sure to spacer the frame a bit from the actual plastic of the console as to compensate for the movement of the cone, or it sounds pretty dead. Idea only

Yes, you do know me, I go more along the lines of kf6vzu

but for this I decided to do something different, is that okay with you? Also, if you need help mounting the speakers, I don't have work on Thursdays so you can call and ask and I'll see what I can do about helping you out.

Where did you get that great console?? I wonder how it would work with a syntor x control head and a F-150 truck? I bought the Radio from a guy who recently left my dept. He had it in a truck like mine but it was a absolute mess. Any ideas or suggestions?

This console is the stock console that comes with the 96 ranger (and other years). It just so happened that the A5 control head fit perfectly into that pocket in the back of it. I do not know much about the Syntors and what kind of heads they use, nor do I know much about the F150's. Take a look at another topic I was looking at. This person used a custom console in his F150.

I have a Systems 9000 control head on the way, but I am unsure whether or not I am going to use it. I do not know where I would mount it in the truck... Thanks! -Brett W
