I am having problems trying to get the WWV BIM to update the time in the Elite Consoles. I have talked to Moto, made sure the pinouts and data stream from the 8183 Netclock serial port to the RS-232 board are correct along with jumpers. One of our consoles are set up as primary receiving time with the others set up as secondary. I still can not get it to work. Does anyone know of any other problems that could cause this? Thanks!

What version operating system do you have and what version CDM?
The recent Elite versions no longer work with the WWV-BIM. The SSC should be able to tell you what the version of CDM is where the change took place but I believe it was concurrent with the switch from the NT platform to the Windows 2000 platform [and obviously also the newest ones that run XP]
Windows 2000 timeserve takes care of clocks of all of the computers on the network from the server. You can get an Ethernet time server that connects to your Netclock and supplies time to the server over the network.
Motorola has a bulletin that tells you how to make the necessary configuration settings in the operating system to make all that stuff play together. Once you get it configured - it works great.

Thanks for the reply! We are using NT SP6. I believe we are using 8.06.03 CDM. That could be the problem. I will verify the CDM Software in the morning. You don't think that they would give us the newer software not thinking that the WWV BIM wouldn't work any more? Thanks!

xmo- do you have a copy or publication number of the service bulletin available? The clocks on my consoles have caused so much irritation that I finally just dropped the clock display entirely.

I may just set my receiving time console and cdm server up to use timserv. I may be the easiest thing to do in the long run. I have included the link to instructions for Spectracom users.

I am having the same exact problem installing a new WWV BIM into a system. Supervisors position has been changed and the new prom personality uploaded, time tap data is getting to the RS 232 board.
CAD company is using Format 1 for the timesync update. Can the CEB accept this Format or must another be used.
