MSF5000 Controller wiring PLEASE HELP??????????????????

Hi all,
Need some help here wiring my zetron 38A panel to a UHF MSF5000 digital station. The unit was just freshly tuned and serviced by an MSS. I have the VHF service manual ( I believe that the diagrams for the SCM are the same).
I have everything I need in front of me, but here is where I am getting stuck.

The zetron installation cut sheet tells you to interface a wire on the component side of the station control module board. (okay so far)

They tell you for example to attach a wire to U1552 pin 1.

U1552 in a 14 pin control chip that is soldered directly into the board.

HERE IS THE QUESTION????

I have looked through the entire manual. I can't find reference to what number corresponds to what pin on the chip. I have found every other chip but the 3 I need to get to.

I see the chips have a little dimple at one side of the chip, What does this mean. Is there a standard numbering system.

Thanks, Rob

Yes, the numbering is standard. The pin next to the dimple is pin 1. I'll try & draw an 8-pin chip below to illustrate how the pins would be counted:

Ignore the dots, I had to put them in because spaces wouldn't work.

pin 1--O (dimple).......pin 8

pin 2..........................pin 7

pin 3..........................pin 6

pin 4..........................pin 5
