Securenet is NOT available on the JT-1000.

While the JT-1000 cannot support Motorola's Securenet, they can be modified for encryption. I have used government owned JT-1000's that have had an aftermarket encryption board intalled. The concentric ring switch is used to enable/disable the encryption board. However, there have been problems with this arrangement. For instance, if anything goes wrong with the radio and you send it in for service, Motorola's initial response will always be to blame the after-market encryption board (which in some cases is the truth). However, it can be done.

Hey,
How was this mod done? where they just hard wired to the concentric switch or did you connect it to some interface on the board?
thank

As I mentioned in my earlier posting, I just had the opportunity to use encrypted Government JT-1000's. I did not perform the modification. Unfortunately, I have been unable to recall the name of the company that did provide the encryption boards and installation. Sorry.

Transcrpyt, can help with that, they provide the board, and if I remember, you can just send in your radio, and they will install it for you for a flat fee.
