Tinny Audio on XTS5000

Post by KD6MHO »

I am trying to figure out why the audio is so tinny (sounds like HT750 audio) on a 800 Trunked XTS5000R. I have played with the settings in the audio section and the channel spacing but no luck.... any suggestions?

Thank you!

There is a pretty recent (last 6 months) flash upgrade that fixed the tinny audio on the xts2500 and 5000 series radios. It made a night and day difference in how well the audio sounds.

If the radio is an older version (1 or more years) then adjusting in the audio section will only make marginal improvements and IMO isn't enough to how the radio should sound.
