Is there anyone that can tell me how to properly program a GP1280 for MPT1327? thanks...

Hi!

I don't know the GP1280 CPS, but I've done some MPT programming on GP1200 and GP640.

You will need 2 things:

1) A network parameter file (*.net)
That's the hard part.
It contains all of the network data, such as the base frequency, number of channels, spacing, control channels, etc...
You can create this file yourself, but of course you will need to know the parameters of the MPT system you want to put in the radio.
A better solution would be to pick a radio already operating on the desired system, and read the network data from its codeplug.

Another thing. The network files are compatible between the most recent radios (so you can use for example a file extracted from a GP1200, a GP640 or another MPT radio that uses a Windows-based CPS to program).

2) Individual radio parameters
It's the radio id: its place in the fleet, the call lists, etc.

These 2 points are all you need to put your GP1280 on a MPT network.
It's quite different compared to Motorola trunking systems, but you can get used to it quickly.

Good luck!

currently they are using tait radios, I do not have tait software or cables.... I have a gp1200, the gp1280 cps is a lot easier to program since you do not need a second set of software to program the network file, it is all integraded....

Guys, apologies for bringing up an old topic but it's the only thread that I can find relating to .NET parameter files.

The question is, how are these files created?
I have a .net file that works in the DOS RSS enviroment, will it work on a Windows CPS based programming session?

Thanks
