I believe the only true wideband low band VHF radio is the Syntor X.

Only problem with this wide of a range is the antenna system. There isn't an antenna on the market that will do this range. Best thing you can do is to put 2 antennas on the radio with tuned cables on each antenna. Use a T connector at the radio. Had to do this once for a fire department. One frequency was around 33.66 if my memmory is still there. The other was some place around 46.14. It worked with low SWR. Just had to make up the cables to the correct length.

For Ham use, a friend used a commercial antenna duplexer (i.e. one Syntor X radio, one 29 MHz antenna and one 50 Mhz antenna). I think it was a Comet CF-360A 10 meter / 6 meter duplexer. He said it worked great.

Do not forget the other wide bandwidth low band radio, the Syntor X 9000.
