About how much loss dose a 1" female to female inline splice have. Also will a .19 db loss defrance in the feed line(LMR-600 vs. 1/2" Heliax) have much of a inpact on preformance.

The loss depends on the freq, so what freq? The difference of .19 dB you mention between LMR600 vs. 1/2 hardline is not noticible. It is difficult to hear any difference with about 2 dB or less. You can measure it, but for "over the air" it is very difficult to "hear" a difference. If you are thinking of making a longer feed out of two shorter one2 (with the female "barrel") its not the best idea for repeaters or at high RF sites, but it will work in a pinch.

Thanks for the reply the freq is in the 460 range. I think i will go with the LMR-600 because I can get the whole cable assembly with the correct connecter that I need for less then just the 1/2 hardline with no connecters. Since the LMR-600 has 1.70 loss and the hardlind has 1.51.

You may want to check the above posts if you plan to use LMR for repeater use (and regret it later on).

Thanks for the info nand I guess I will spend a little more money now and save me the trouble later and also the db loss info I got was a little off. After looking over the Andrews site I found that 1/2 hardline
(LDF4-50A) has a loss of 1.45@450 not 1.51.

Its hard to go wrong with any of the LDF line. If you are wanting long time service, you will be better off with the LDF.
BTW (and its just a peve of mine) its just ANDREW not Andrews.
I know, I just need to get over it... But its a sickness I have, goes with owning too much Moto stuff.
