I am looking to use two canopy style units with a POE or power over ethernet power unit.

These units will do an airhoc mode and talk directly to each other emulating a link.

Who makes a unit that converts a ethernet to a two or four wire style breakout.

In other words I want to emulate a T1 style lease line so I can set up a remote reciever.

Forgot to mention, Just wanna see if anyone knows products other than the DVSI, VEGA, or JPS units....They are way to overpriced for very simple unit.

Thanks, Rob

If you haven't bought anything yet, then I would look at the Proxim Lynx radios. They have a single T1 radio in either 5.8GHz or 2.4GHz. Price is about $5000 per end for the radios only.

If you want to use the Canopy stuff, then I would use something like an Adtran Atlas 550 with a T1 card to do the "conversion". The Atlas chassis is about $2100 and the T1 card is about $300.

Okay, I'll take a look. I just can't believe that this stuff is so expensive. For a simple breakout module from 4 wire analog to convert to ehternet.

Anyway, I have already purchased some used smartbridge equipment.

I was lookng around at some VOIP phone equipment.

Would a 4 port FXS gateway work. It connects 4 wire analog POTS equipment to a LAN/WAN.

They said it would have to be a sip or H.323 protocol.

Any info on this stuff. Thanks, Rob
