Is there any way to disable the keypad beep in a GP68?

If not software?... then hardware?

Is it possible to find the trace that the micro sends the beep to the audio PA, and then cut it? If so WHERE?

Thanks for the help...

What radios do you own?: Progreso soup can with CRT

Look and see if turning SIDETONE STATUS to off in the special programming mode silences the key beep. I got that from the small owner's book but I haven't had time to dig into the big service book. I had two of these radios for a couple of years but I do think that I had the key beep off at all times.

I checked further. Sidetone status affects only the DTMF tones. Try turning off the ALERT TONE to see if that kills the key beep.
The display for this in SPM is At-on and At-off.
