Hi Guys

Just been asked to do some install work on a unit over in the UK and our supplier has just got the TIR'3s in stock I know hes a bit behind but its worth the wait for what we save on cost with him

at the moment it has sho-me led flashers in and some microlights that are great as there clear on a silver car so not in your face as the unit is semi covert as its his daily drive too. I need to put 4 fend up lights on the sides I know the locations and the microlights and TIR'3s will fit there but whats going to be the best light head to use ????

I have not used the TIR'3s yet so not got experience with them what are they like worth the money or use what hes got if we go for the TIR's then im using the microlights in the grille if not then we have some 3" LEDS to go in there

Anyone used the TIR's and tell me how good or bad they are

TIA guys stay safe out there

TIR3's are the same lighthead design as the TIR6 products, just 3 less lightheads. Still superbright. TIR6 heads are in the 500 series size, and the 3's are smaller with several different mounting options.

thanks PJ

I was going to go for a set of tir3s myself for my fend off and maybe grille but my vehicle is very very overt lol

infact I think the  made me do it

its only a few £££ more for tir3s than the microlight heads we would have to buy plus I guess we get to free up a flasher unit just run a sync wire to the tir3s

thanks for the info mate if there superbright will be going for them

Ok. I give up. Can someone please define "Fend Up" and "Fend Off". I'm not up on these UK auto terms.

Where I come from we call that a "Cattle Catcher" and is mounted on the front of a train...I don't think that is what we are talking about!

the TIR series is awesome from what little work I have seen with them...definitely worth the wait.

LED lighting keeps getting better and better...especially with the Whelen products.

Hi guys thanks for the info and the pdf going to go nab that in a sec

ok fend off posistion is something I dont see US guys doing but its normal over here say you have a 3 lane carrage way and you have an incident in lane 1 you place your unit at an angle accross the lane so the front of your car is pointing towards lane 2 so as you approch you dont just see the back of a car that could be trying to travel you see a parked car in a posistion forcing you to change lanes hence to fend off the incident I have a website url here somewere with a decent diagram will dig it up and post it

Thanks again guys we a bit behind with the stuff you have ie the LEDS and yup get better everytime I see something new thats why I asked here I know you guys have em and use them and wanted a users veiw on them

TA guys

Oh, so basicly parking on an angle. I know what you mean now. Just never heard it called "fend off " before. So a "fend off light" would be one intended for angles. Cool.

yup you got it a fend off light is normaly put to the side of the vehicle so that is visible not only on an angle but if your going through a cross roads its another light to the side thats saying OI IM HERE

There only just starting to be used over here but I have been putting them in install suggestions for a while as there bloody good to have especialy at night when some daft prat cant see a full edge bar chevron striping on the rear and batternburg down the doors it all helps

If you want to know more about any mad things us brits do feel free to ask lol I will try and help
