working with a maxtrac that seems to be cutting in/out. does it during RX and TX. i do have one of the newer mics with the LED on it and i have noticed that it gets dim when it is RXing and TXing. i have put a voltmeter on it and keyed up and its staying at 13.8 volts. any other ideas? things i can look for? thankx

Take off the top cover and check the voltage on the cable that goes between the PA and the logic board on of these wires is B+ (can't remember which one) then check your on off power switch input and output side. I have seen both failures... Good Luck,

Don't know if the mike would be the cause of your problem but that mic your using is for the M-10.

Mic is also for the Maxtracs, i work with our other 11 ambulances all have the same set-up, with a few M1225 thrown in..and none of them gave me problems.

I had that happen on one of my maxtracs and I cleaned the antenna connectors (both the cable end and the radio) and that took care of it.

I also use the newer type mic on one of the maxtracs and it works fine.

I hope it's this simple of a fix for you.
