Minitor III Programming Question

I've recently reprogrammed some of our department's Minitor III pagers. We recently added a new station, and have reworked our tone-out procedures. Basically, what I've done, is made it so that the pagers make use of the ABCD switch. Here's what I have:
A- Select Call, Beep
B- Select Call, Vibrate
C- Monitor, Beep
D- Monitor, Vibrate
Here's the thing, if a user has the pager on A or B (Select Call) and a call comes across, it opens their pagers up. Then, the dispatcher has to wait about 5 seconds before they can talk. This is because the station alert system takes about that long to finish it's alarm sequence before dispatch audio will be heard. But, during this amount of time, the pagers go back to SelectCall mode, and the pagers do not hear the dispatcher's voice since it detected carrier squelch and reset.
I want the pager to remain in Monitor (not open squelch) until the button is pressed on the pager. Much like the Minitor II's did when the selector is on the "bell" position. I've messed with the Monitor mode on Page 2 of the Minitor RSS, but none of them seem to do what I'm wanting to do.
Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I know it can be done but without the software in front of me I cannot tell you how to eliminate the auto reset.
If you do not get an answer by Monday when I return to work I will post another reply.
Also, I was told that Vibrate mode only is not acceptable for a primary means of alert by NFPA and ISO. Pager needs fixed full volume alert to be accpetable
All our minitor II pagers are jumpered for full volume alert and the MinitorIV is set up the same way

I haven't programmed any Minitor III's, and I'm using version 6.0 for our Minitor IV's, so I don't know if this will help. On page two of the software there is a setting for "RESET FUNCTION". Set that for "Revert N" and then some time period, I use 15 seconds. That will keep the pager in monitor mode. As I said, I don't know if you'll see the same settings.

cooper is on the right track. On your screen where you select the function of the ABCD switch to the left is the reset feature. You will have to play with the settings but you can do timed or you can do some other features so play with that setting.
since I am not there to determine timings you will have to play with the settings as said before.
Also if you do a search on the board here you will see some other posts covering this and as to what some people have come up with as solutions.

Interesting. I never knew that. I don't know anyone around here that actually does that, probably for the sake of others in the house, church, car, etc etc. It would be nice if it could give both the audible and vibrate alert at the same time.

Just my $.02.......
If someone is specifically needing this application.
The SCA "Sceptar" pager will do vibe and audible alert at the same time.

One of our volunteer FDs uses the Sceptar pagers. They are, quite simply, a pile of :o. People gripe about Minitor 3s/4s... they're phenomenal compared to the Sceptars. The Minitors are also far more sensitive in my experience.
Just my $.02.

First of all I know this is a post about Minitor III programming, and my last desire is to start an arguement. I must however elaborate on the comments made toward the SCA "Sceptar" pager.
We use them at my FD and have sold quite a few of them and when they are PROPERLY programmed and set up, they do perform very well. And have proven very reliable.
On another note, if a Sceptar needs service, parts, ect.... The service manual is avaliable, parts are avaliable and you do not find yourself paying a flat rate, high as hell, repair price to have the battery door replaced or a belt clip repaired.
SCA may not be your first choice, but when compared to the Minitor III / IV in all aspects, it is a more economical choice.
