I changed the back of my MTS2000 about two years ago due to the antenna mount was loose on the old one. The new one has a 'set' screw holding in the connector. Anyway, I thought that I pulled all of the labels off and put them on the new back, but I guess I didn't. How do I find out what Version Firmware I have? Probably a dumb question, but I had to ask...lol
Oh, the back was off of an HT1000 and I do have the right Model # tag in place, but I don't see the 'Flashcode' sticker like I see on the radios at work.
Thanks in advance, you guys are great,
Scott...

It's been a while since I did it, but I beleive upon power up you push the top side button about four or five times rapidly, the radio will beep and the display will show the Model, firmware, and other test features etc.

Turn it on, after it beeps, press the lower side button 5 times. it will show you the following
srvice then S01.12 then H01RDD then 9PW1BN (your model number) then
goes blank for a second or two then 432AJT then 0059 then rftest

So is that S01.02 number the Firmware version? Mine says 'R05.30'. It's below version 5.42, so I shouldn't have a problem right?
Thanks,
Scott

First item is model number, second is serial number, third is controller/OS version (either with Rx.xx or Sx.xx), fourth is flashcode (if applicable)
Yes, if your radio said R5.30 then it is Toolproof safe.
I'd still backup your codeplug in case something happens in the future.
