Anyone have comments on these lights? Good, bad etc?

I have a Dual Predator and absolutely love it, because:
1)It's very quiet (after years of listening to a strobe popping in front of my face).
2)The horshoe shaped suction cup bracket helps keep it up under the rear view mirror so that I can actually see out of the windshield.
3) Oh yeah, it's BRIGHT!!!

How's the overall quality and construction of the housings? Are they durable?

Durable is a understatement.
Where Whelen uses plastic (and I'm not slamming on them), SoundOff uses aluminum. You can use a Predator for a hammer if you wanted. The unit is very durable and will put up to whatever reasonable abuse you throw at it (again, I don't know why people slam on Whelen's use of plastic. What do you people -DO- with dashlights that they have to be armored like a tank?).
The downside is that this makes the unit rather heavy, and my suction cup mount often would have trouble compensating for the weight.
Overall, a good light. I haven't seen the Predator II yet, but I can't imagine it being worse then the I, which in itself, is a good light.

see whelen stuff u can special order most stuff in metal housing but there plastic is top noch

Does Sound-Off use colored LEDs or clear LEDs with colored lenses/filters?
I'm contemplating a set (or two) to mount to the brush guard on my truck. The only problem is that I'm looking for a color that's generally considered oddball for LEDs: green. Green lenses on the lights make them look to obvious... I'm going for a lower profile look.
Also, can multiple units be synchronized (a la Talon)?

Predators are colored LED's (clear when off) and clear lenses.
Green is available. I don't believe that there is a sync option when using the internal flasher.

I'm specifically looking for grill and deck mounting of the predators so a durable housing is a must.
I don't plan on using them for a window mount with suctions cups at all.

I have installed the Galls Predator version and they are nice lights. The housing is a very durable aluminum. My only complaint is that the mounting bracket could be designed better and the housing is very deep for LED. The lights have an internal flasher or can be used with an external flasher and syncd.

Anyone have a comparison between these and a Whelen TIR or Talon Series lighthead?
The Predator I is brighter head-on....

... than the Talon, but the Talon is better on the sides. I have not seen a Predator II to compare to the Talon. I always say that I don't rely on any dashlight to provide intersection warning, so the amount of light to the sides is a moot point in my book.
