VRS Spectra T-cable?

I have been through Mike B's site on VRS hookup to a Spectra and here is what confuses me:

1) I have a seperate VRS and seperate Siren/PA box

I currently have a HKN4363 cable, but that only allows the Siren/PA to be hooked up to the spectra it appears?

I have access to an HKN6038 cable, but again that appears to just be the VRS cable?

How do you connect both to a spectra? I see the HKN4304A but that appears to be a T-cable for a Syntor X??

Can someone point me to some help, pictures, cables?

Thanks,
Mike

Actually the HKN4304 is ALSO a T-cable for the Syntor X 9000.

Compare a Syntor X 9000 radio connector and the connector on the VRS. They are physically identical. The connector on the Siren/PA is also physically identical.

First, you plug the HKN4304 T-connector of the T-cable into the VRS connector and then screw the connector on the other end of this cable into the Siren/PA connector. Hook up the red and black power wires from the Siren/PA cable connector.

Then the HKN6038 cable goes from the J6 DB-25 connector on the radio drawer and plugs into the T-connector already installed on the VRS. You will need a double length 3680220B05 screw to replace the standard short screw on the VRS side of the HKN6038 cable.

Thats it. Sorry, no pictures handy.

There is actually very little difference between a HKN4363 and HKN6038. The red and black power wires and a pin 8 jumper are the only difference. If you are desperate you can use the HKN4363 on the VRS and just not use the red wire and ground the black wire.

You can buy a 2606360T01 replacement shield and combine the VRS and Siren/PA into just the Siren/PA housing (the old VRS housing would be surplus). Then you would use a single HKN4363 cable to hook up the combination Siren/PA/VRS housing.
