Someone told me about something you can use to polish plastics on lightbars...
Basically I have a Impala PI with front headlamp assemblys that are sandblasted to sh1t, and i'd like to polish them up...
Thoughts?

Plastic Polish from Blue Magic $4-5 (I have personally used this to not only clean lightbar domes to clearness, but my once yellowed headlight lenses too.)
Mother's also makes one originally named Plastic Polish. its about $5 too
Or you can waste money (shipping costs) and wait for someone to ship you that Novus lightbar cleaner. same stuff, except this stuff makes you think it's all specially made plastic polish for lightbars

Well, I have to be honest regarding the Novus. We have used all sorts of polishes to refurb bars and when I found the Novus, I was so impressed with it that I became a dealer for them. Most people will only buy 1 bottle instead of all 3 and only get half assed results. The key is to get all 3 components. (If it is only a light dulling, you can get away with the last 2 steps in the system)
Another suggestion (This is going to sound goofy, but it works) is to use Go-Jo hand cleaner and a high speed buffing wheel. Use the kind that is creamy (Without pumice) and just a dab will do you. Be carefull not to burn the plastic with the wheel though.
If the lenses are sand blasted and not just hazed, you may need to replace them. Most any cleaner is used for crud and hazing, and will not restore a physically damaged piece of plastic.

I've used that Novus stuff as well. I took an edge bar with lenses from 1989 and made them look like new again.

My vote is for the Novus product. The kit with 3 grades of polish was $12.95 from the local marine electronics shop.
I tried it on a set of yellowed & scratched Aerodynic lenses & restored them to serviceable condition with this stuff.
