What requirements are there for the xts3000 rss purchase from motorola, and how long does it usually take to receive and what is the cost of the software as well.

First you need to call Motorola directly @ 1-800-422-4210, you ask to speak w/ Mercy (don't remember ext.), she will then prepare a license agreement for you. The agreement will be faxed to you, read and fill it out, return it to motorola. From that point it typically takes 7 - 10 days for the agreement to be processed. After it is processed you will receive your RSS in the mail. The fee for ASTRO RSS is ASTRONOMICAL. If i remember correctly $250.00 for the RSS + a years worth of upgrades.

Just a peice of advice try to have motorola part numbers ready before you speak to Mercy, it makes it a lot quicker.

I think ASTRO RSS is P/N RVN4100 ( Elroy correct me if I'm wrong!)

Astro RSS is now RVN4184CR, it has the windozz CD ROMS RVN4182C for the Astro Saber/XTS3000 handhelds, CD ROM RVN4183C for the Astro spectra mobile and DOS disks RVN4100X for all versions all in one bundle. Order it by RVN4184.

Thanks Mike, I really wasn't sure on the part #'s. I'll make note of the above p/n's for future reference

The CPS or RSS is $375.00 and they don't have to OK it. Just because you sign the form doesn't mean you'll get the OK. I bought it and it took some work for it.
