Does anyone know why the XTS3000 VHF Model III has a short beep when de-pressing the button the speaker microphone to talk. I have no MDC settings activated on pre and I am only utilizing this portable for Conventional. The radio does not do this when there is not a speaker microphone attached to it. Any idea's????

Is the radio secure equipped and or secure equipped is checked off in the CPS? It sounds like tehe radio is emitting the TX clear alert tone. Take a look at your secure options.
