Just a quick question regarding the audio loudness through a repeater. When TXing direct radio to radio the audio is heard with strong loudness. When talking to the repeater the RXing radio hears the transmission and everything is crystal clear but the volume is just a little lower as compared when hearing a radio talking in direct mode.

This isn't a serious problem and the system seem to work flawlessly. It only causes an inconvienience of adusting the volume knob up or down depending on which repeater is TXing... (this system has several channels working off different repeaters)

Is there an adjustement in the repeater alignment that needs to be made? The radios are HT1250, MCS2000, and CDM1250 UHF and the repeater is a GR1225

First, check & make sure the repeater's channel spacing isn't programmed as 12.5KHz narrow-band, unless that's what the field radios are using.

You can adjust the repeater transmit deviation with the regular 1225 RSS, in the 'read for service' mode.

There are several adjustments that affect the repeated audio levels.
Like Todd mentioned. There is the “Transmit Deviation Adjustment”, the “Transmit Deviation Calibration” and there is the repeat audio deviation adjustment called “Repeater Gain” in the service menu. The Repeater Gain should only be adjusted if the first two are correct.

The Repeater Gain adjustment is likely the one needing adjustment and typically this one is set for equal audio in and out, or about 3 dB higher audio out depending on the application. This adjustment is done without driving the audio into limiting.
