XTS Model Labels

I received my XTS 3k R housing but they don't come with the model labels. I tried to order the part - 3385619B02 but it is not available in my catalog. Can some one with access to it PM me.
If that doesn't work what is the best way to remove a label and re-apply it to a new housing.
Thanks for the help.

Unless you are a dealer, Motorola won't sell you this part because of problems rebadging radios. The only way to get it is through a Motorola Service Center. Look in you Yellow Pages and be prepared to bring in your radio to prove you actually have it!

More Motorola bitchmade tactics...you have to prove you have it games...give me a break. They treat you like a kindergarden consumer. Put a kenwood label on it....this way Kenwood gets all the credit for a cool LOOKING product....if they dont want you to have their name on it, put someone's on their that would appreciate the visibility.

Rumor on the street is that there are places that can order these labels, but last I heard -- you need to provide a serial number in order to buy them.
That's just word on the street...

Your kidding me....
Thats like trying to get spark plugs from a auto shop, but they wont give them to you, unless you provide serial number from the engine block

If you'd like to write a thank you letter, you can probably address them to Nick Deluca.

We haven't been told up here in Canada that a serial number is needed before we can order a label in...that's ridiculous, how on earth would a shop keep any spare labels onhand? I don't think Motorola expects us to order them in one at a time. Sounds more like an anal dealer causing these rumours than Motorola themselves.

In connection with their attention to re-branding of off shore radios, parts built radios, etc., Motorola has been restricting the sale of certain items including labels with the Motorola logo, Astro logo, etc.
Legitimate dealers, MSS's and major accounts probably don't encounter a problem, but small entities and non-dealer accounts probably cannot order these parts. If you put one of these numbers into MOL you may get a message similar to: "This item is not in your pricebook"
To correct that requires a call to Motorola. One of their 'security' people will have to OK your account. Once that is done you can order these parts without providing any serial numbers.

I work for a M/A-COM dealer in South Jersey but we also have some customers that have XTS-3000's and some 5000's that are out of warranty so we service them. We just ordered a bunch of XTS-3000 and XTS-5000 labels, including some Astro Saber labels and didn't have any trouble getting what we wanted. Maybe they are only giving certain shops trouble.

A friend of mine, who will remain shameless, purchased a complete "yellow" housing for a XTS, from an east coast online dealer, when it arrived, it was missing the front top label, and the bottom label was blank, contacted the dealer in question, they said, the label's were a "restricted item"................go figure.

Perfect example of an anal dealer causing unneccessary grief. For God's sake, if someone's spending the money to purchase the housings from you, get the freakin' labels for them too!!

I think from memory the case cost around US$200, for crying out loud, plus the missing label for the "Yellow" XTS, would of been a "Yellow" label with black and purple writing, like who would wanna put a yellow xts label on a say a ht radio......
Like come on. This whole "restricted" item BS is Pathetic.
Atleast we are buying a "Genuine" part, ffs.

There are different part numbers depending on the housing version. See:

Call 1-800-422-4210 and ask for parts ID and they can get you the label. All parts offered by AAD can be ordered by all Motorola Account Holders. The only thing restrricted to dealers are Most Radios, Most Consoles, Major System infrastructure equipment and SP options. The only label restrictions from Motorola are actual Model Number / Serial number tags, these must be affixed to the radio by the factory only. Dealers and Parts accounts are both restricted from these parts.

Hey Bob. My XTS from Nick also had the too small decal. There is an early & late decal. I posted the different part #'s last year but I just moved so that info isn't handy to me now. I remember calling Motorola in Chicago to get the correct one. Good luck. GARY N4KVE
